Lanarkshire Golf Association has a long tradition developing the stars of the future with many of our junior golfers now well established as touring and club professionals and regular members of our national teams at all levels.

Our junior programme continues to evolve, and with the introduction of a dedicated Junior Convenor in 2018, working in partnership with all our clubs, we are starting to see the fruits of these efforts. 

In 2022 our Boys Team won the West of Scotland league, and our Youths team matched their junior colleague’s achievement securing their West of Scotland league title, remaining unbeaten throughout the season. 

Many of the youths have stepped up from the junior team over the past few years, and with the current crop of boys applying themselves diligently in our coaching framework we are in no doubt that last year will just be start of a long run of success.  

In 2022, one of our leading lights, Joseph Kelly (pictured) won the West of Scotland Boys Match Play Championships adding his name to a trophy steeped in history with Ryder Cup Captain, Sam Torrance to name but a few.
